How to Measure Your Dog’s Neck for a Bead Collar

How Rivet Dawg Collars Fit.

Unlike traditional dog collars from a pet store, Rivet Dawg Bead Collars are each made custom to fit your pup. Whether they have a small neck, thick neck or a few extra rolls of fat, no two collars are the same.

Use this simple visual guide to measure your dog for his or her bead collar before submitting an order.

  1. Measuring for a standard bead collar

When you’re measuring your dog’s neck for a standard bead collar (with an O-ring and brass or nickel-plated clasp), use a soft measuring tape (or a piece of string), and place it around your dog’s neck where you expect the collar to sit.

Don’t pull tight, and don’t put your fingers under the measuring tape. It’s important that the measurement you provide is precisely the circumference of the neck. Use the illustration below for guidance.

Measuring for a slip-on Rivet Dawg Bead Collar

When you’re measuring your dog for a slip-on bead collar (with an O ring and no clasp), use a soft measuring tape (or a piece of string), and place it in front of your dog’s ears and under their chin.

Don’t pull tight, and don’t put your fingers under the measuring tape. It’s important that the measurement you provide is precisely the circumference of their face. Use the illustration below for guidance.

Please note: For this style of collar we will need both the neck size and head size.
